Image from the backyard. My wife likes to mix sunflowers among the vegetables in our garden for the color and for the benefit of the local bird population.

Greensboro Sculptor, Jim Gallucci

Jim Gallucci is a Greensboro sculptor who works in metal. A large part of his work is architectural in nature and he is known for his doors and gates. His sculptures are on display and in installations all over the country. I stopped by his studio/large metal working shop yesterday where he and his staff weld, cut, forge and mold metal, and he was hard at work on a full size model for his latest commission. I'm getting ready for the opening of a solo show tomorrow evening at the Circa Gallery in Asheboro, North Carolina. The title of the show, "Images From the Green Table: Photographs by a Randolph County Photographer", comes from a group of still-life photographs I produced this winter in my den. Asheboro Holiday Home

I went along with my mother this weekend to visit a house on the Asheboro Holiday Tour of Homes. Owned by two lovely ladies and retired teachers, Emma Washington and Barbara Tazewell, the century old rambling bungalow is filled with the treasures, artwork and mementos of these two women's lives and travels.
